Our final week for our Enneahive Summer has us looking at the Enneagram 9- the Peacemaker. This type is down-to-earth and desires harmony and peace for themselves and the world around them. It might seem strange that a hive could be seen as a peacemaker, but I’d like to change your mind!

When a hive is healthy, full and has a strong queen there is a beautiful harmony. It’s so much fun to open a hive and stand near observing as all of the worker bees hum calmly while moving about busy at work. When I was taking my first beekeeping class one of the participants made a comment about how he liked to take his lawn chair down by his hive and just sit and watch. I thought that was sweet but never thought that would be me. Well, I’ve never taken a chair over, but I have found myself standing near the hive watching them come and go. It’s so easy for time to pass by and I find that I feel calm and centered after a nice visit with my bees. It’s sort of like watching ocean waves come in and out, the sound and the rhythm of the water is so calming. Bees are the same-there is a soothing rhythm as they fly out and in and their sound can be so peaceful.
