Bees wear pants. . . well sort of
Bees collect pollen from flowers and carry it back to the hive on their legs. The pollen is packed onto their legs and makes it looks like they are wearing pants!
The pollen is packed into some of the wax cells in the hive where it’s stored for use. Pollen is a protein source for growing baby bees and is fed to the larva by nurse bees. They can’t exist without pollen. Pollinator plants are super important to the survival of bees, so if you are wanting to help with bee survival plant some flowers!
Bee pollen is also really healthy for humans and has many benefits including relieving inflammation, boosting liver health, strengthening immunity and reducing stress. However, if you are allergic to bees you may need to avoid bee pollen, due to potential side effects similar to a bee sting.
