Mead is an alcoholic drink made from fermented honey and water. Some call it honey wine. It’s also the most ancient fermented drink, discovered when rainwater flooded a beehive and naturally fermented with airborne yeast.

Some say the term “honeymoon” originated in medieval times when newlyweds would drink mead for a full moon cycle at the start of their marriage for the promise of many children.

Mead is also known to be a choice of drink for royalty! Queen Elizabeth even has a favorite recipe with rosemary, thyme, bay leaves and sweet briar.
